Short-Term Rentals
The vacation-rental restocking guide
A repeatable supply system keeps guests comfortable, prevents last-minute errands, and makes every turnover easier to manage.

A spotless rental can still feel unprepared when the coffee is gone, the extra paper products are missing, or the kitchen has no basics. Guests may not notice every individual supply, but they notice immediately when something they expect is unavailable.
The answer is not simply buying more. It is creating a standard for each property and checking it during every turnover.
Build the standard around the property
Restocking levels should reflect maximum occupancy, typical stay length, owner preferences, and available storage. For one home, six coffee pods and two backup rolls may be appropriate; a larger or longer-stay property may require much more. Those numbers are examples—not universal rules.
Coffee and kitchen basics
Confirm the coffee maker is clean and working, then replenish the property’s chosen coffee, filters or pods, sweeteners, and creamer. Check dish soap, dishwasher supplies, trash bags, paper towels, sponges, and any owner-approved cooking basics.
Bathrooms and linens
Count toilet paper, hand soap, toiletries, towels, washcloths, and bath mats according to the property standard. Inspect linens for stains or damage before beds are made so a problem is not hidden beneath a polished presentation.
Use par levels and a simple inventory
A labeled owner’s closet and a minimum quantity—or par level—for each item make restocking faster. The turnover team should record anything running low before it becomes an emergency. Owners can then reorder on a predictable schedule instead of paying for rush purchases between guests.
Make restocking part of the turnover
The final walk-through should confirm that visible supplies are neatly presented, backups are in place, and low inventory is reported. When cleaning and restocking happen as one coordinated process, there is less room for missed handoffs.
Guest-ready means the home is clean, functional, thoughtfully supplied, and ready to welcome the next reservation.
Legacy can help create a customized inventory standard and maintain it as part of ongoing turnover service.
